Archipelago is seeking an organized and motivated individual to work as a Deployment Co-ordinator in its Fishery Monitoring Programs. The position is full-time unit paid and based in AMR’s Victoria office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Co-ordinate fisheries observer assignments on board commercial fishing vessels operating throughout coastal BC.

• Co-ordinate on shore validations of fish landings by shore-based fisheries observers.

• Provide hail services to commercial fishing clients.

• Provide technical support by performing data entry, data verification, and other administrative functions.

• The current schedule for staff is four 10-hour days followed by four days off. Work on statutory holidays and weekend days are at times required by this schedule. The Deployment Co-ordinator will also be required to respond to occasional cell phone calls during evenings while they are on shift.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and client service skills;

• Excellent organizational skills;

• Post secondary education;

• A proven ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently within strict time constraints;

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; and,

• Ability to work with MS Word, Access, Excel, e-mail and the Internet is required.

• This is a full time position. The hourly wage for this position is between $17.32 and $20.20 per hour.
